Classified Ads – 7 Major Don’ts!
from:If you want to promote a product or a site, the number of options available to you online is huge. If you don't do what is needed to get people to learn about your site, you can't hope for them to show up on their own. The main methods of getting people to see your site is by using relevant keywords and by optimizing the site. However, these aren't the only methods.
One way of advertising online is by using classifieds, and plenty of people do it, since they want new people to visit their site. Even though using classifieds doesn't get you as many people on your site as other methods, it can also be cheaper to use, so they are cost effective. This is why a lot of owners of small businesses can use this method even though their budget is limited. They can spend nothing on classifieds, or they can choose to pay. Both methods can be used with great success.
A great thing about sites that offer classified advertising for free is that they're very good at getting visitors. You can find both unpaid and paid sites that offer classifieds in whatever niche you need to attract people from. Choosing the classified sites that cater to the type of visitors you need are the sites you should be using if you're a small business.
Here are some of the things you shouldn't do when using sites with classifieds:
You can get banned from the site if you open too many threads in a small time period.
Only put links to your own site if the rules of the classified site allow you to do it.
Talk with others like you would like them to do it. Don't use inappropriate or profane language on other sites.
Discrimination has no place in the ads you post. Doing this will probably get you banned or at least it will make you lose face and reputation.
Only advertise on sites that cater to your audience. The members of the site will find no use for your ads and you will end up paying for ads without seeing anything in return.
Don't use tricks to attract people to your site. That includes offers, claims or give-aways, that are not true even though people visit your website and do what they need to do. Doing this will just ruin your reputation and people will also tell their friends about your bad reputation.
Use the right category to place your ads. If you don't, you pay for nothing and you don't get any visitors that are worth it. Take your time and pick the right category or sub-category to place your ad in.
Take your time and read all the rules of the site before you post your ads, to make sure you don't get banned or that it doesn't get deleted.
